GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU AND KINDRED SPIRITS!

Cheryl Knox is an artist and animal lover. She is fond of all creatures, but particularly cats. She is a very active member of the Humane Society of Alamance, including being a kitty foster mom. She received the HSAC Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002.

As an introductory offer, Cheryl will create a one-of-a-kind pastel portrait of your cat, framed and matted for only $365. Of that, Kindred Spirits gets 10%!!! This is an outrageously low price for a painting, especially when you consider what goes into a pastel.

Pastels are usually in the form of chalk-like sticks, made up of ground quality pigment.  It is a very fine dust, basically.  It is applied in layer upon layer of color to create color interactions and wonderful depth.  Each layer of pastel has to be lightly sprayed with a special fixative to bind the pastel "dust" to the special paper. It is very complicated and takes many layers to complete the image. The end result, however, is a one-of-a-kind, gorgeous piece of art that looks so real, you keep expecting to hear a "meow".

Because Cheryl works from a photograph, the painting can be of a special cat that graced your life sometime in the past. For more details, contact Cheryl at: cherylknox@clearwire.net

Domino was the beloved companion of Sherry Carter. When Domino passed away, Dana commissioned this portrait. She knew Cheryl was an outstanding original stained glass artist, but had not seen her pastel work before. She was awe struck. Not only did Cheryl capture Domino's look, she also captured her essence.
